Lao Tzu's Tranquil Sitting

With Shi Jing

A meditation retreat introducting the view and cultivation from the Dao De Jing
Date: 13-16 April 2018
Location: Braziers Park, Oxfordshire.

In this meditation retreat we will be exploring teachings, the view and cultivation presented in the Dao De Jing, taking Lao Tzu's words as our guide. In this view cultivation embraces the totality of our being where nothing is rejected or suppressed. Meditation is a natural unfolding where tranquillity and clarity is revealed to be our natural state. This state is not brought about by effort and concentration, it is constantly present.

Shi Jing has been following the path of Daoism since mid-1970s. In 1995 he was ordained as 31st generation Daoist priest (dao shi) in the Longmen (Dragon Gate) branch of Quanzhen (Complete Reality) School. In 1996 he co-founded the British Taoist Association and became its chairman shortly after its inception. As the BTA’s main teacher, he has been leading retreats and teaching Daoist cultivation in UK, Europe and USA.
